In this episode of Sailing svSomeday, it’s just hot! The Texas heat is full effect with temperatures reaching 108 degrees and a heat index of 113 degrees. So how do we deal with it? Well, first Darla makes a reversible Sunbrella sun shade that we can attach to the side of our bimimni where the sun is. Next we add an Arctic Cove mister to provide some relief. Then inside the boat we add some Reflectix insulation to the dead lights and some Zarcor CloZure shutters to the port lights.
Also in this episode, for the first time ever, we have guests on our boat while sailing. This means that we have finally reached a confidence level high enough to be able to safely transport other human beings. The possibilities are endless!
